Throwback Backhoe
I used to do some things. Elk Mountain, Wyoming. Somewhere around 1981-1986. Boss sent us out to replace bridges and irrigation spillways. We built a lot of dams and water crossings using factory reject sewage tubing and manhole inspection chambers. The boss had a connection at the concrete plant and he’d buy them by the truckload. I once sunk the front end of that Ford straight truck into the silt and pretzeled the tie rod. We used a chain and a bulldozer to straighten it enough so I could drive it back home. You will note I was fueling the backhoe with a NON-non-spill fuel nozzle. I can’t explain the Vikings jersey in the last two photos except that it musta come in a box of free stuff. Those were good days and I carry them still.
