Long Beds with Mary Cutrufello Tomorrow
The Long Beds rehearsed last night in my office over the garage. There were a lot of bugs trying to get in through the cracks around the air conditioner and they mostly succeeded. It’s like the morning after an entomology convention in here.
But. Rehearsal was good fun. They always are with this bunch. And it was a genuine thrill to get our first chance to hear what Mary Cutrufello had to add, to say nothing of how much we enjoyed just shooting the breeze. I’ve admired Mary’s music for a long time, and we’ve spoken on and off, but this was the first time we’ve ever been able to really spend some time. We’re honored that she’ll be at Phoenix Park tomorrow (and the Mousetrap afterward) with her Telecaster, spending the night as a Long Bed. It’s gonna be fun. (Adelyn Rose plays at 6:30 p.m., Justin Jay Arnold plays a pre-show set at 6 p.m.)
