Cold as a Reset
The brown goldenrod stalk wiggling stiffly in the breeze ovals out a hole in the snow. The top has snapped, leaving the dead bloom to brush the snow in a semicircle trace.
This is the sort of thing that makes the reappearance of green all the more miraculous.
