A while back I talked about pigs with Yael Grauer of the food magazine Spezzatino. The entire interview is available here as a downloadable .pdf. Yael asked some good questions that led the conversation off into a few less-common corners.
Mike did an interview with Book Club Girl Radio, and while the main purpose was to promote the paperback version of Coop, he also discussed what his wife thinks (or doesn’t think) of his writing, took a few questions from Utah, used the word “vicissitude” for the second time in two days, explained “Tiny Pilot,” discussed tuba-playing in the country, verified that logging is tougher than writing, and admitted that there are a couple of chickens he never will be able to butcher.
Prior to a reading in Plymouth, Minnesota, I sat for an enjoyable interview with Aaron Landry of the Heavy Table. Poor guy, I rambled like sixty. I hope he didn’t try to transcribe the whole thing. The excerpted interview has now been posted: you can read it here.
It was so windy outside that the poor reporter who came to write this story wound up having to interview me inside the granary. We each sat on a piece of firewood. She was not the sort of person to complain. The photographs are fun. Don’t let the smile fool ya, I don’t much care for them two roosters. Anyways, here’s the link.
Footage of my morning TV interview at KATU in Portland, Oregon can now be viewed here. Farmer friends, please note I keep trying to wedge in the fact that I am not a real farmer. Added bonus: Enjoy watching the author scramble for ways to explain that he was bitten on the butt by a coonhound in terms that won’t get him hustled out the back door.
Mister Sleepy
Did this on four hours sleep, nearly curled up on the overstuffed chair for a nap. Been on the road 13 of the last 14 days, I note I am getting to where I need a haircut. Will need to locate the proper high-tone salon.
