Dancers & Demolition Derbies: an event with author Michael Perry
Michael Perry, humorist, best-selling author, and the man responsible for the phrase, “Never Stand Behind A Sneezing Cow,” will be at the Augusta High School. Book signing and sales to follow. Doors will open at 2:00 PM.
The tickets are FREE and can be reserved online at https://bit.ly/mp41422 or by contacting the Augusta Public Library at (715) 286-2070. Bring your printed ticket or show your reservation on your phone.
Known most widely as the author of “Population 485,” the story of a volunteer firefighter and EMT in a small Wisconsin town, Perry’s heartfelt brand of humorous storytelling has made him a popular speaker and performer for audiences of all backgrounds.
Raised on a small Wisconsin dairy farm, Perry put himself through nursing school while working as a cowboy in Wyoming, then unexpectedly wound up writing for a living. These days when he’s not on the road performing or hosting “Tent Show Radio,” he lives on a small farm with his wife and two daughters where he writes books, a weekly “Roughneck Grace” column for the Wisconsin State Journal, and develops music projects with Grammy-winning musicians.
This program is sponsored by the Augusta School District, Augusta Area Foundation, Friends of the Augusta Library, Augusta Senior and Community Center, and Friends of the Cadott Library.
