Professional Grade Absent-Mindedness

An entire chapter in this book is based on my absent-mindedness (the one about forgetting the van has become a favorite at parties) as it relates to the 16th-century French philosopher Montaigne. Were he alive today, I’d love to tell him this one: Yesterday I stood in front of our Post Office box and became frustrated when it wouldn’t open, no matter how many times I clicked the car key fob.
