Time Trucks On By

Sometime in early 2006 on a mountainside in rural Panama I finished the final draft of Truck: A Love Story, zapped it to a flash drive, hiked into town, rented a computer in the building above, and emailed the text to my New York editor in London. I remember holding my breath as I watched the slow green crawl of the upload progress bar.
