Audiobooks, Finally

Well, this is happy news. As many of you know, my regular announcements promising audiobook versions of my latest books have become a sort of inside joke – thus this entry from last year’s newsletter:

In what has become a perennial deception, both the 2009 and 2010 newsletters announced that Mike would be releasing audiobook versions of Coop and Truck the following year. So all’s we’re gonna say this time around is Mike has actually begun recording the audiobooks but release dates are hazy and rather than making rash promises we’re just going to say that in 2012 everyone gets a free unicorn. With a horn made of braided string cheese.

The unicorns are on order (the paperwork is complicated, they have to be imported from the planet FluffyTruffle, then quarantined in a cotton candy factory, plus the unicorn excise tax is prohibitive, then there’s the business of obtaining horse feed with sparkles in it…my five-year-old is working on it) but this I can say: We have officially signed an audiobook deal, and I am in the studio this very second recording the first of the three titles included in said deal.

If all goes as planned, the first audiobook will be available by the end of August. We’ll be handing out details as soon as we have them.

In the meantime, you can pre-order the new book, “Visiting Tom,” right here.

And: Thank you.
