This Is the Sea

I always circle back to the Waterboys.  Have stacks of their stuff, and Mike Scott‘s solo stuff, and some World Party.

I remember listening to “This is the Sea” while I pounded out poems on the Smith-Corona manual typewriter my parents gave me for graduation.  The poems were fairly awful, but just part of the path.

Man, this one, and also “Pagan Place,” and “Whole of the Moon,” and “Fisherman’s Blues,” and, and, and…

And of course, these evoke memories of Swifty, my dear departed English friend.  The first and only time I saw the Waterboys live it was with Swifty.  Wrote about it in Coop.
