I’ve been talking to my neighbor Tom lately.  He’s an old-timer.  Rounding on 80.  Amazing fellow.  Makes his own Civil War cannons in his garage.  His mom lived to be 105.  Yesterday Tom told me about the day his Mom came down and told him she had hung a portrait of President Lyndon Baines Johnson in the outhouse.  “Couldn’t figure it out,” said Tom.  “Ma hated LBJ.”  Then his thin face twitches itself into a sly grin.  He looks like a little kid who can’t wait to deliver the punchline.  Which he does.  “Then she told me she put him under the lid so he’s lookin’ down the hole!”
