Thank You Irish Drummer Guy

Last night at the Big Top I was allowed the opportunity to give a brief reading during the Woods and Waters show.  I decided to read something more heartfelt than humorous.  Wasn’t sure if it was the right call.  But later that evening one of the guys from Different Drums of Ireland found me and said some very kind words (not sure which member, I just know he looked like he could cut logs for a living if need be).  I don’t know if he knew how much that meant to me.  I tend to babble in the moment.  But the idea that he would come from his green island to this green woods and take the time to find me after the show makes me once again grateful that I stumbled on to this path.  Safe travels, mate.

Sweatin’ at the Mousetrap

After me and them Long Beds finished up at Phoenix Park the other night, we set up and played loud at the Mousetrap.  Mike O’Brien shot some photos and now they’re viewable over on the Volume One site.

Man, it was hot in there.  Thank goodness I brought not one but two New Auburn Area Fire Department sleeveless t-shirts!

As the photo below reveals, I am a singer of great sensitivity:

Long Beds Playing Tonight

Weather permitting (if there’s any doubt, Volume One will have an announcement on their site by 4:30 p.m.) us Long Beds will be playing at Phoenix Park tonight.  Can’t wait.  It’s always such fun.  This is part of the Sounds Like Summer Concert Series.  Be sure to come early and catch Cadence and our Amble Down Records label-mates Meridene (featuring a Hetzel!).

Afterward, we’ll be hauling our gear up the street to play an additional show at the MouseTrap Tavern. NOTE: MouseTrap listing originally had $5 cover, this event is actually FREE.

Thanks Jay

Just off the air after a visit with Jay Moore at Moose Country 106.7.  Kicking myself because I got so busy cleaning the pole barn and trying to get the oats out of the field between rain drops that I forgot to set up a post letting folks know I’d be on the air – I know people often listen online.  Being on Jay’s show is like visiting the local cafe.  Among other things, we talked about rain, chickens, and the IRS.
